Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy, or endodontic therapy, becomes necessary when a tooth is decayed down to the root. This leads to inflammation or infection of the pulp that can become a much larger problem if not cared for promptly. Root canals ultimately help save your tooth structure by removing the infected pulp and disinfecting the inside of the tooth. A filling material is then inserted into the space where the pulp once was, and a composite filling or crown is placed to restore the full shape and function of the tooth.
